Please pay attention to the following usage and maintenance rules so that you could use your windows and doors without any problem for an extended period of time.

Usage of Single Casement-Leaf Opening Windows and Balcony Doors;

This accessory is opened and closed with the help of the handle on the window casement. The window is closed (normal) if the handle indicates below. The window’s technical properties (water-air tightness, heat insulation, water insulation) function only when the window is closed.

In order to open the window casement, take the handle horizontally at 90 degree, and laterally open the casement that gets out of the lock.

In order to close the window, push the casement inside the frame and, get the handle on the closed (normal) position.

Usage of Windows with Transom Accessory;

Likewise, the windows with transom accessory are used with the help of an handle mounted on the window casement. The handle is horizontal when the window is closed. And the window is locked in this position. Turn the handle at 90 degree to open the casement slightly and get it on vertical (transom), slightly pull the casement that gets out of the lock from the handle.

In order to close the window, push the casement inside the frame and, get the handle on the horizontal (closed) position. You should push on the casement frame with your free hand in case of larger casements and special-shaped casements (triangle or circle).

In case there is a transom (lash lock) on the window instead of a handle, open the casement by means of pulling the lock handle down. Make sure that the transom lock is closed by means of pushing the casement to the lace in order to close it.

The window casement is held by the transom scissors. You may remove the scissors when you want to clean your window. Make sure that the scissors fully seat onto the place when you reinstall. In case of the failure to fully set the scissors onto the place, then it may open excessively and cause personal injuries.

Usage of Double Opening Accessory Windows and Balcony Doors;

A Double Opening Window is an accessory where a Single Casement Opening and Transom Opening. Take the handle horizontally to open the window and, get it under the normal position to close it.

In order to open the window slightly on the transom position, turn the handle at 180 degree from the normal position until the handle indicates above and, slightly pull the casement from the window handle to get it on the transom position.

Push the handle inside the frame and, get the window handle on the normal position to close the window. You should push on the casement frame with your free hand in case of larger casements.

Since the window accessory function properly only when the handle is on the above-mentioned positions, pay attention to ensure that the handle is on the said positions, not on the intermediate positions other than these positions.

It may also turn when it is on the intermediate positions when the window casement is slightly opened. There is no need to work about in such case. The frame-casement scissors will keep the casement on this position. First, get the handle on the transom position and push the casement. (In such case, the top part of the casement gets in its place, but the lower part does not yet). Get the handle on the open(horizontal) position and, finally het the handle on the closed position and, lock the window accordingly).

Usage of Double Casement/Leaf Accessory Windows and Balcony Doors;

In case your windows and doors do not have a central mast and they have two casements/leaves, then you should use the casement that will open first (the one where the window handle is located) just like when you use the single opening or double opening accessories explained above.
There is a sliding locking mechanism on the casement that would open secondly. You may cause the casement to be opened by means of pulling the open-close handle or the bottom-up slides of the slide & lock system. Make sure that the slide latches are put in the place when closing the window again.
Do not close the slide handles when the casements are open. When closing the window, first close the one with the slide installed, and then the one with the handle installed.
Do not close the other casement when the casement with the slide installed is open.

Usage of Sliding Windows and Doors;

This accessory functions by means of being moved left and right at horizontal axis with the help of the handle on the window casement. The window is closed if the window handle indicates below. In order to open the window casement, take the handle horizontally at 90 degree, and slide the casement.

A sliding door can be opened and closed, and locked from inside and outside. There is a grip or a handle installed on the casement.

Usage of Locked Doors;

A door is locked only by a latch bolt when it is open, and by a latch bolt, door slide and additional locks inside the frame if it is closed.

The door should be kept closed in order to get the best technical values and, in particular, against theft.

Open the door by means of pressing down the handle if the door is not locked. You need to know the type of the lock in order to lock your door properly.

These are:
  • The door can be locked with the key on the handle. The door is closed if the key slot is inside.
  • The door can be locked by both the handle and key. Lift up the handle as much as possible so that the additional locks get on their places and then lock the door with the key.
  • The door can be locked only by the key. Turn the key clockwise to lock the door. Open it by means of turning it counter-clockwise.

Usage of Windows and Doors with Special Accessory;

There are many door-window accessories from PIMAPEN other than those described above. If you use one of these special accessories, please contact our dealers to get further information on the maintenance and usage of these accessories.
